How to adjust sample/synth envelope by key value?

Postby jicky » 13 Jun 2013, 22:31

I'm attempting to help a friend out with her new Nord Wave. We want to adjust the envelope based on the key value so that lower notes have a slower attack, while higher notes have a quicker attack. Is this possible on the Wave? I've searched through the manual but I'm not exactly sure what terms I should be looking out for. This also makes it difficult to search on the internet as well. Any help is appreciated!

In order to accomplish this, I believe you would need to be able to modulate the filter/Amp attack parameter with the Keyboard track setting. I think in the Nord Wave, the Keyboard track setting is hard wired to Filter Cutoff, so I am not sure this is possible. What you could do is program Slot A to have the slow attack, slot B to have the faster attack, and then use the Keyboard Morph assigned to the level of each slot so that you have a pseudo-split to achieve that effect.

Reason: Changed 'slot be' to 'slot B'

The Nord Wave offers KEYBOARD as one of the morph sources, so that can be directly morphed without dual slot cross-fading.

Thanks, Pablo-

So filter and amp attack can both be morph destinations?

If I recall correctly, there are more than two dozen potential morph destinations on the Wave...

Hi Jicky, yes you can do that in the Wave.
First go to the Amp Env section and set the attack level you want fot the lower keys, then, in the Morph Prog section, double click the keyboard button (the led will start blinking) and set the attack level you want for the higher keys, finally click once the keyboard button (it will stop bilnking) and it´s done. With this procedure you can change almost everything in the Wave.
