Best way to 'blank' lower half of keyboard.

Postby jamex » 17 Sep 2012, 04:52

Hello All!

I use my Nord as a 2 output synth by making my samples hard left or hard right.

I want to have both Slots active playing different sounds - effectively 'splitting' the keyboard (which btw would be a GREAT feature for an OS update) but am having a problem silencing the lower keys for one of my sounds.

I have selected a bit of silent audio as a sample which i want to have from D#3 down, but when i try to generate the program, i get "encoding failed: bandwidth too low".

I have checked the sample start and stop points are valid, but still no joy... is it because the software is having trouble trying to pitch shift silence?

I have tried importing a longer silent sample but that didn't work either!

Any help would be gratefully received!

What if you add a bit of noise with a very low volume, but high enough to pass this mysterious bandwidth limit?

Edit: the attached file seems to work fine for me. No idea how loud the noise is (white noise), but working on my iMac I can't hear it.
