Typical mono sine `moog` lead

Postby rich4r » 11 Apr 2016, 04:55

Hey.. I'd looked in all .nsmp archive list, and searched with the search tool in this section forum for almost all of my (new - thanks community) sample sounds..
Nice warm pads I founded.. miscs synths too, even brasses or aggressive basses.. there are all kind of contributions and very useable, at least more than official nord samples - thanks for those who take the time for sampling, again.
But something came to my attention, although Nord's are the best to cover all type of sounds, I can't find one of the most typical and generic sounds in all keyboards , the famous "moog" sine lead.
Yes, there are some sounds that can be usefull as a start point, like recent upload called "lapsteel".. or "moog esq1".
But, still, it doesn't fits.
Am I missing something? Wrong key words? I should clear out that I have an Electro  maybe on a stage this could be far more tweakble and possible even without a sample as a base. A little glide, compress, some effect an rebv, pitch bend and good to go.. but that's not possible in electro :D
Some help? Someone who has found something thought the forum? - I insist, looked up for all the pages in search, as I did with pads, etc.

Thank you for your time

Not exactly so chill like the last one, the one I used on a Korg x50 was more "in the front" and with far more presence - also, an fx overtime would modulate its intensity volume. :keyboard:

Sorry for my English :wtf:

You should really get a synth for playing synth sounds, or upgrade to Stage 2. None of the Electros have the tools required to play anything other than polysynth samples credibly, and even them only to a certain point. Lack of portamento, lack of pitch vibrato, lack of pitch wheel...

Try the horn section in nord's sample library, the trumpet or trombone come close to the sound you look for (my choice was "MM synth Trumpet BR").
But as you say yourself the absence of a mod and pitchwheel will seriously hamper the execution.

Sure.. it will be the next thing to do after getting an EV ZLX..
BUT, with a midi controller you can use pitch bend.. and mod wheel can be easily replaced with effects knobs. The one thing Electro can't do would be the glide feature, but, a sample recorded with it in itself could work, right?
Getting a Voyager would be sweet

Glide is from one note to the next. I doubt it could be convincingly sampled. The sampler does not know which note will play next.
