Split samples Livin' On A Prayer, Why Can't This Be Love

Postby MvanD » 11 May 2016, 19:30

For an upcoming 80's gig I made these multi split samples. And since they were not yet covered in the nsmp section I decided to share them with you. 8-)

Livin' On A Prayer:
The talkbox is E1, the intro chord is B1. The intro string bass notes (c, d, e,) are under F1. G1 and A1. This way you can play them all with your left hand and you have your right hand to play the synth brass chords.
That sound is from C2 upwards.
[EDIT] Additional settings:
I made a split at C2 and added compression to the lower part.
For the brass sound (Upper part): release 736, Delay 2 @ 124 bpm (the song is 123 bpm, but the electro delay is in steps of 2 bpm, WHY?), some chorus1.
Stage reverb an equalizing to taste.

Why Can't This Be Love
The intro bass notes are under C2, the sequenced bass notes are C3 through C4, and the sync sound is C#4 upwards.
I made a split atF4 to be able to boost the sync sound with a compressor and I added a little bit of phaser.

Hello, thanks for the Bon Jovi sample, nice job! Is it possible get the sample in Cm? Our vocalist doesn't have enough balls to sing this song in Em.

Noup. That is not possible, because after that sample didn't work well (NE 5). Talkbox-loop is slower

Hi,
I'm new to this forum - just bought a Nord Stage 2EX :D
Samples are great and I would certainly like to try them.
I play in an 80's band in Aus ( @80s inc )
- am I right in thinking these samples won't work with the 2Ex?

Welcome, DrGeorge! The nsmp files (as well as the and npno) should work fine in the NS2EX.

Hi guys, is there a way you can transpose this whole patch at once using the Nord sample editor?
