Samples from Korg to Nord

Postby Tbone » 18 Jul 2011, 19:09

Hi,

I am total amateur considering samples. I would like to transfer some of the sounds from my korg triton le to NE3. I would like an advice how to accomplish that. I have a simple laptop with only mic input and don't have any smart card for my korg. My first problem is to transfer sound from korg to comp... Do I need an external sound card? What should be my first step?

Any advice would be appreciated or a useful link ;)

Thank you very much in advance!

Hello Tbone,

I'm assuming that your TritonLE doesn't have the sampling board installed.

You really need some type of computer sound card I/O with the appropriate input(s) for your instrument.
There's a lot of great options out there.
This is an inexpensive choice at $34

I believe that most interfaces will come with some sort of recording software.
I use a freeware product called Audacity

Once you have recorded your samples, you load them into the Nord Sample Editor (NSE) software and follow the manual.
Usually takes a couple of trys before getting the feel for it, but Nord has made it amazingly simple.

Cheers, Hanon

I will try to sample some voices and pads that I find very useful... Let me ask you, can you recommend some realistic mouth harmonica sound which is available on nord site/this forum?

Hello Tbone,
Nord has one in the Accordion/ Organs section:
