Hello! I just want to know how to make a split nsmp, with two existing nsmp (in order to use only one synth slot for two samples sounds, so as to free the other slot)?
It would be great if if someone could have an idea on how to do that
Have a good christmas time everybody

Re: HOW TO MAKE a split sample
For example, I want to play a song which needs a personal nsmp file whith drum loops (only 3 or 4 keys used for this nsmp), and two other nsmp sounds.
=>So I want to make a nsmp split with my drum loops sample and one other nsmp on slot A, and put the third nsmp on slot B.

Re: HOW TO MAKE a split sample
Hello Fabinlive,
Once the .WAV files have been converted to .NSMP format, there's no way to combine, edit, or otherwise change them.
The way to do what you want, is to load the .WAV files in Nord Sample Editor (NSE) and assign them to the proper keys and then create a new .NSMP.
With this method, you could have as many different .WAVs as you do keys, but it would still convert to just one .NSMP file.
Cheers, Hanon

Re: HOW TO MAKE a split sample
Ok thanks Hanon, hope that a future update of NSE will give possibility of editing existing nsmp directly to make splits or anything else ... Until this time we will continue making new samples from wave files, or switching on another ns2p to have more synth slots

Re: HOW TO MAKE a split sample
I suspect that the primary reason NSE does not already include this functionality is to protect the Nord Sample Library. "Reverse-converting" those .nsmp files into .wav files for editing in NSE would effectively be providing the rest of the non-Nord-owning public with free copies of the entire library for use on any other platform. Unfortunately, a by-product of this is reduced flexibility in using the 1000+ sounds which Nord makes available for free.
Just a guess on my part...I agree that it would be fun to play around with those raw sounds to create some useful split programs. But anyone with time and skills can create their own. Not sure if my skills are really as good as my ego would have me think, but time...that's in short supply these days.

I didn't read where anyone suggested this, at least not in this thread.

If Clavia wants to protect the Sample Library while providing this possibility they'll have to come up with another piece of software that doesn't allow for editing of the sample parameters but is specifically suited for creating split patches. I'm 99,5% sure they're never going to do that, though...
