Hi All,
I've recently taken over as the keyboardist in a band and as such have inherited the bands old Stage 1 and a Nord Wave. One of the patches on the Nord Wave has samples from the bands early album assigned to various keys, and ideally I would like move which keys these samples are assigned to, due to my hands being smaller than the pervious player!
I have downloaded the Nord Sound Manager and the Nord Sample Editor - and whilst these seem to allow me to upload and back up the sounds, they don't seem to let me edit an existing patch on the instrument. Is there any way to do this - or once you have generated and downloaded your patch is it un-editable form this point on, unless you happen to have the original project files - which I unfortunately do not have.
Any help would be extremely gratefully received!
Cheers,
Paul.

Re: Editing an existing patch on a nord wave
Hi Paul, unfortunately you cannot edit a .nsmp sample once it is "compiled" (compressd), the only chance is to have the original Nord Sample Editor "project" files including the .wav samples that were used in it.
Otherwise you have to resample the sounds and create a new .nsmp yourself.

Thanks for the info - I had a horrible feeling that was the case!

Re: Editing an existing patch on a nord wave
Yes, unfortunately, this is true.
Yamaha offers a technology where project files (*.PPF) including all waves can be shared and further edited before they are "compiled" to a keyboard specific installation file (*.PPI).
I also wish that Nord had gone this more flexible way.
