What's the best way to set the volume of one part of a keyboard split via MIDI command with the Stage2? For example, one half of the split may need to switch between lead and backing.
I use my own MIDI software so in terms of commands I can 'do anything', just wondering what the most efficient approach here is.
Thanks

Re: Volume switching with KB splits
Organ uses CC 4 for Swell
I believe Synth and Piano use CC 11 and master (everything is CC7),
However what I would do is probably set up a morph and using the control pedal CC11 to control the individual volumes of the instruments (tweak piano down and synth up or visa versa).
Not sure if you can use the morph for swell however. However you can use morph to control the organ drawbars. So I'm pretty sure you can use a single control pedal (or mod wheel) to switch them over.

I did this on one particular synth-heavy song where I ran out of splits - I programmed it so that the control pedal turns of the volume of sound 1 up and sound 2 down and visa versa. While it works for this particular one it does have the drawback that when you need less volume of sound 1 it starts mixing in sound 2. Which results in pretty much in an 'on or off' kind of playing and hoping that the volume is right in the balance. On top of that I ocasionally have a bug where it pops the faded-out sound back to max resulting in a blurry wall of ugliness.
How I would do it next is program an Impulse Morph (as they call it on the NL4 right) to switch the sounds and then use a control pedal to control the volume of whatever one is activated. With custom midi programming very achievable.
