Using Minimoog Reissue D to control NS2 via Midi?

Postby cheopsnet » 10 Aug 2016, 20:31

Hi guys,

Lucky owner of one of these brand new Minimoogs D reissue, which is equipped with some fairly basic Midi.

I have recently been into playing the NS2's Hohner Clavinet D6 emulation. However the action on my NS2 is HA76, which makes more challenging for organ/clav. Do you think I could turn on the NS2's D6 sound, and control the NS2 with my Minimoog's keyboard? The action on the Minimoog, I am realizing, could work well for those sounds....

Thanks,
Louis

simple thing to do...you will be using either Slot A or Slot B to produce clav, so go into Midi Menu and set Piano A or Piano B accordingly to the Moog's output channel. Then, when you make your clav selection in the Piano Section, toggle KBD ZONE SELECT until you arrive at the condition where NONE of the three green LEDs are lit, but the other functions in that section are still active. STORE YOUR NEW PROGRAM!

You're saying the mini sends polyphonic MIDI?

Yes I am :)

The Little Phatty does, as does the Voyager (except the Old School).
Basically, the sound engine is controlled by the keyboard according to the note priority setting, but the keybed being send the whole information: notes, velocities, aftertouch.
With the Little Phatty I made a patch where no oscillators are mixed in so that only the external input is processed through the filters and VCA. I use a cheap, antic, analogue 8 voices module just as this guy does with Animoog.

I'm pretty sure the Model D can do it as well.

The Sub 37 sends polyphonic MIDI also so I'd be surprised if the new Model D didn't.
