Hi folks,

I'm new to the Nord family. I just pre-ordered the Stage 3 Compact.

Any good sticky posts to look at to start getting familiar with the Stage x boards?

I'm coming from Kronos / Motif world.

Also, any updates on the shipping dates for the NS3?

Congrats!

As a current Stage 2 owner (I preordered the 3 as well) I think the best advice I can give you is to download the current manuals and get a handle on the architecture of the Nord Stage. It is completely different than any of the Korg/Yamaha/Roland boards, and, although it is one of the most intuitive keyboards to use once you grasp its design, it can seem confusing coming from the others until you understand how the different elements are arranged. Once you get it, the light comes on, and you realize why Nord is unique in this industry. Keyboard magazine has a great review of the Stage 2 from a few years back as well which is very helpful. You are in the US, so let me know and I will make a copy for you and send it over.

Thanks for the welcome DJ. I'll download and dive into those manuals over the Memorial day holiday. I hate reading the manuals without the keyboard in front of me to reinforce the learning. But at this point, I may pick up a few pointers or at least get a sense of the concepts and ergonomics.

I'll search for that review and If I come up empty, I'll give you a shout. Thanks for the offer!!

If you like start a search on YouTube about Stage 2 Tutorial. Perhaps a bit more exiting as to read a manual.

Thanks guys. Just got a call today from my reseller and I'm not supposed to get my NS3 until early August!!! Bummer. It's going to be a loooooong hot summer.

This should give me more than enough time to learn the keyboard. I wish Nord would release the NS3 manuals online.

Too bad I can't go out and rent a Stage 2 for a few weeks to get up to speed.

I did notice the "Images" drop-down was recently added to the right of the "Accessories" drop-down on Stage 3 product page and Slot is now called Panel... maybe the manual is not far behind

So i think i will get the very first units released by Thomann!
