Stage 2 not powering up

Postby elisa_rose » 13 Mar 2018, 01:06

Hello,

I am new to this forum and I'm looking for help. I found this because today I was playing my nord stage 2 and in the middle of playing it completely and instantly shut off and now won't turn back on. It was like the power went out, except it didn't. You should know that I have a bad habit of leaving it powered up and I noticed when I came to it today (after leaving it on since last night) that it was powered down even though it should have been on. All I had to do though to get it to turn on was click in and out the power button and viola - it turned on. Now that is not working! I tried putting it in another outlet and still not working. I have never had issues with it before. Does anyone have ideas about what could be going on? I have had it for 3+ years now and am no longer protected under warranty.

Thank you so much for your help!

Elisa

Are any lights on? Have you checked the fuse? Not just visually, but with a meter.

Did you check the fuse at the back of the instrument? Did you reinsert the power cord (sometimes it comes a bit out and might not make proper contact)?
BTW, I would not leave the instrument switched on all night if it is not used: risk of fire, increased risk of getting a power spike, some parts do have a limited life (the LCD, capacitors, etc.) AND it is a waste of energy.
