Specific Clavinet D6 Settings

Postby kirbyjwilson » 21 Apr 2018, 18:05

I'm not sure if I should ask this question in this forum or another...sorry in advance.

I'm attempting to create my first program. I want to create a Clavinet sound just like Jim Wuest's in this video:

https://www.facebook.com/theheavypets/v ... 418471344/

I selected the Clavinet D6 DB based on what I can see in the video, and also turn on BRIL (for Brilliance).

Any other tips would be helpful (e.g. Auto Wah, Keyboard Touch, Delay, Reverb, Drive).

Thanks,

Kirby

The video also shows the Medium EQ engaged. You didn't mention which Nord Stage you have, but if it's the 3, that appears to be the one clav EQ setting that it is missing. (The manual says "an original Clavinet is equipped with 4 additional rocker switches, which control the onboard EQ. Most of these settings combinations are available on the nord Stage 3" - and I don't see a way to select Medium.) But you may be able to approximate that EQ, the info here may be useful as a starting point: post82348.html

Ah yes, I have the Stage 3 Compact, which does not have the Medium. I'll check out that link so I can approximate the EQ, thanks!

But the Stage3 does a combination of the three printed settings (two at an time). Is that, what you are looking for?

The Stage 3 can do a combination of 3 of the 4 settings on the Hohner Clavinet D6 - it does not have the Medium setting. Instead I went with the EQ settings (combination of Medium and Brilliant).

I was also looking to match settings such as tremolo, autowah, drive, reverb, delay, etc.

Thanks,

Kirby
