Yeah, there is still so much lifespan for this keyboard even with this band.
I was considering about the PC or iPad actually but because some of the gigs it's quite possible I can't play with my own gear. I was never really friend of using PC in live situations but things have changed so much lately and one should change with the times hehe. Anyway as long as I can use the NS even with little limitations (some of them solved with the NS3 btw but I'm not into that now...) I'll keep using it.
Sometimes it's just be creative or put more effort and find turnarounds.
Thanks maxpiano for all the info!

Re: Some way to "launch" long duration sample in NS2
On those rare occasions when I have needed to do something like this, I segregate the long sample into the very top zone all by itself. And, yes, use the HOLD button.
Also useful to use MONO MODE so that you don't accidentally hit two notes at once and hear that long sample twice tuned apart one semi-tone.
NOTE: a very small number of NS2 Rev. A instruments were produced which did not have a HOLD button...Max, you might accidentally have been telling Joe to look for something which was not there!

I am aware of Rev A. Pablo, which is why I posted the picture and Joe_zap confirmed he was aware of teh Hold button, just hadn't thought to use it
PS: also on Rev A. you can engage the Hold by double tapping the Arpeggiator ON button (if I remember well, Nord issued an "addendum" for Rev A but I cannot see it any more on Nordkeyboards website... anyway it is in the Updates History, see the release notes of v1.26 "Arpeggiator Hold functionality added - this is activated by a double-tap on the Arpeggio On button.")
