Single note plays octave

Postby Glenn » 02 Feb 2017, 19:22

I am a newbie trying to set up a split keyboard with Upright Bass on lower end of the keyboard and Velvet Grand Piano on the middle and high end. I successfully have the Upright Bass on the lower end of the keyboard, but when I use the Model in the piano settings to choose the correct piano for the upper half, I find that when I play one note it is doubled one octave lower (i.e., as if I were playing an octave).

I assume there must be some setting that I am missing that will stop the doubling. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
Glenn

My hunch is you have a piano on Slot A and Slot B. Turn off the slot you aren't using for your split.
Thanks,
Tom

Or switch to the other slot and turn off that piano -- perhaps you are using organ or synth on that slot and do not wish to dispose of them.

Thanks for the replies, folks. I had thought that Slot B might be a problem, and so I made sure that Slot B was empty. So I'm pretty sure that I have Piano and Upright Bass in Slot A only.

Any other ideas?

Do you have any external device (Computer, other) connected via USB that may echo-back the notes? Try to set all MIDI Channels to OFF (Global and all Slots + Sections) and/or disconnect any MIDI or USB cable.

Other idea: what happens if you switch off the Piano and/or replace it with a Synth or Electric Piano?

Last not least: why don't you post a picture of your NS2 panel on this Program? It may help to diagnose.

Thanks for all the responses. Problem was solved by carefully looking at the panel and realizing some idiot didn't properly split the keyboard on the synth. Doh!

Ehm... I was going to suggest that too, but it seemed too obvious... good you found out yourself! ;-)
