Hi DJ,

As Mr. G found, it was no problem setting this up, but very helpful to learn the location of your misstep. Once I downloaded the .nsmp file, set up the program and HOLD and MONO, I hit the note, turned off the volume, ate dinner, and came back half an hour later, and your loop was still running.

It had to be a simple misstep ( a loop runs from start to end points, so setting start=end means looping a single byte of the sample)

The Big issue is for the owner of a NS2 rev. A.

I buy the Nord Stage 2 after 1 months from its debut in the Italian Market.
I' m very excited because i Have to use the Stage 2 for professional music
works in many live.
In this moment I study the function of the keyboards in great detail.
I found that in NS2 revA there are not 2 important function that in revB are
present:
the opportunity to set "ON" the Hold function with the arpeggiator off, ; the
Keybgate.
I know that the hardware of the 2 versions are different. I ask if it' s
possible to have the set up of this 2 important function inside the midi menu
of each program. In this way the 2 versions of the nord Stage 2 will be
equivalent. If I had Know in the moment of my purchase that after 1 month It
would be a new version out I waited...But I never Imagined...I ask if Nord People can
make the two versions equivalent because I do not have the financial ability
to make a new purchase...

The HOLD is available also on Rev. A but requires a little "trick" (double tapping the Arpeggiator button) as you can read in this manual addendum (in Italian) link

Oh... so it actually acts only as ArpHold (it always activates the Arp when double tapping, right?) damn... well this could be fixed in the OS, if they wanted...

What if you put the Arpeggiator Rate at 0 (minimum)? (Just trying to see if it may be a workaround)

No...with the arpeggiator at minimum the Sample I create stops before it reach the end. I've create a loop and my intent is to use the hold function with the arpeggiator off as a start stop button...

Then I am afraid you need to go another route to play those loops, such as something like an Akai MPD8 or an app on a smartphone/tablet (there are quite some on iOS, not sure on Android).

Another trick could be to assign a MIDI Channel to the Synth section only and send to it a Sustain message (CC 64) via MIDI, for example from a "midified" switch pedal or an external controller/master keyboard.

PS: unless Nord will eventually listen to the cry of Rev A users and modify that button behaviour, which technically speaking is not difficult at all...
