Re: Problem with Stage 2 arpeggiator.

Ah, i think im starting to understand what is happening here.. if the master clock acts as a metronome. That would maybe explain where the problem lies.. as daniel says though, you want the notes to sound when you hit the keys. The master clock works in this way with lfo and delay for example.

So yes Mr g.. i expect the clock to be synchronised to the hitting of my keys. This is what im familiar with on my other synths.

When im back at the stage2 ill see if there is any setting to do with syncing the clock to my sequencer, because if the master clock is acting as a metronome it is certainly out of sync with my daw. Although, still the problem will remain when using the stage2 stand alone without the sequencer.

Thanks all, i think im starting to understand this problem a little more now.

I had the same issue, which made the arpeggio un-usable for me. One of the reasons (along with annoying rotary sim) why I sold my NS2 and went back to the Stage ex.
My best memories are those I can't remember

Hi,

Have a look at the attached discussion regarding ARP and MST Clock external devices which might be of help in resolving your issues.

I know this is an old post, but I'm hoping u found out what's going on with the arpeggiator. I'm very frustrated. I'm having the same problem in that the stage 2 arpeggiator will not stay in time with any of my other instruments. I literally have 3 other items set to a bpm and all sync perfectly (even without midi). As soon as I add the stage 2, it starts in time and then starts to get off after about a minute and YES WHY CANT I HAVE A BPM OF ANY NUMBER?! My loop pedal can adjut BPM to within 1/10! (Like 120.7). I can't believe that the Nord completely omits certain BPMs. I've had to go into many projects and change the BPM to accomodate and even then, the arpeggiator on the Nord fails to stay in time. What the hell is going on. I bought this thing so I didn't have to deal with this kind of thing.

I would recommend using a midi thru box and just sync everything together from a master clock. The S2 is a bit misleading, as it doesn't send it's clock over midi, but will latch onto incoming clock signals. I have everything in my rig sync'd to a Beatstep Pro - and it has the ability to fine tune tempos. I've never had any issue with the Nord syncing to it.

You do have to tell the arp to sync to the master clock, otherwise it will just play its own tempo.

:? 'Sync' without MIDI is not the way to do it.
