Hi all,
As I've been reading various articles and forum posts, I've noticed that not many people pay much attention to Clavia's upright piano samples. I personally think that the upright pianos are real unsung heroes of Nord World, and they don't get enough attention in the press. AFAIK, no other hardware company offers such high quality upright samples.
This made me curious, so I decided to start a survey to see what samples people are actually using in their Nords. I made a poll with the pianos in alphabetical order. Pick your top three, and if you want, post a message saying what you like best about your choices.

Re: POLL: Favorite acoustic pianos?
My top 3 are the BlueSwede upright, Grand Imperial and Grand Lady D.
I used these three in the Electro I borrowed. I love the BlueSwede, because it oozes character and sits perfectly in a rock mix. I also like the Grand Imperial, for when it has to sound like a produced piano. The Grand Lady D is spot on for softer songs.

POLL: Favorite acoustic pianos?
Imperial XL,
Grand lady D,
Black Upright.
The Imperial seems to be the most balanced all around piano with a booming crystal clear bass. The Gr Ldy D has the warmth I need when playing solo. The Black Upright has just enough 'twangyness' to capture an authentic upright feel without making it sound digitized or keyboardish.

Re: POLL: Favorite acoustic pianos?
Hello all,
I mostly use the Steinway Grand Lady D.
My second is the XL Bosendorfer.
I rarely use the uprights, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.... er, um the Black Upright.
Stay thirsty my friends!
Cheers, Hanon

Re: POLL: Favorite acoustic pianos?
Nice thread. I like these discussions
I mostly use the grands for playing live. But playing at home it can be very nice to choose an upright and get that character oozing out
My favorites are:
Grand Imperial: has such a full sound. And great bass.
Bright grand: A brighter and very clear sound.
Romantic upright: I also play alot of balads @Alchemist and this is great for those.

Does that make the Black Upright "The Most Interesting Piano in the World"?

Re: POLL: Favorite acoustic pianos?
Ah-thank-ya.
I'm glad to see the uprights getting some love in the poll. I think they are one of Clavia's real strengths, and more people should know about them. IMHO, with all the great and diverse instruments in Clavia's library, if you can't find at least one piano to love, you should probably make an appointment with the audiologist.
