Hello everybody!
I've a quite simple question that is getting me crazy...
I play in a Duo with a singer/guitarist; in our show we should play 3 songs that require the use of a backing drum.
I've realized the drum sounds with sample editor and looped them.
I suddenly splitted section A for having the drum loop on the last higher notes with Hold function enabled. Section B is used for a piano sound.
My problem is that, using this configuration, I have to start the drum loop, wait 4/4 and then we can start playing together on the loop using piano on section B.
What I actually wanted was a solution that allowed me to:
1) start the drum loop at the moment in which a hit the first note on the piano and
2) avoid that, every time I hit a subsequent note, drum loop re-starts from the beginning.
I'm also considering the eventuality of using my Galaxy Note Pro ( that I already use Live for reading scores running Mobilesheets) with some other app, but, at the moment, I haven't yet found the right app.
Do you have any suggestion?
Thanks in advance !!!
Best regards,

Re: Playing Live with Loop Drum
Could you split the keyboard way up high or low that's in the same slot? This would work if you don't need the entire keyboard range. You can then have everything in the same slot, and octave the piano up or down so it's in the right range.

yes, as ebowen4221 said, putting both sounds on same slot will at least make control a little easier because you can see everything at once, though technically they can stay on separate slots and LAYER the slots to achieve the same functionality.
I have done this in the past with great success and it is very easy

Re: Playing Live with Loop Drum
Hello,
thank you for your replies.
Actually what I'm already doing is splitting the keyboard ( I'm using two separated and layered slots with splitted keyboard for better handling the two separate sounds) but my problem is that I wanted to start the loop by playing the first piano notes ( that I play with both hands) and avoid that the loop starts again after I play the second piano notes.
I think that splitting keyboard will avoid the re start of the loop but, doing this way, I cannot start the suquence at first piano notes having both hands playing..
thank you for your replies.

Re: Playing Live with Loop Drum
you only need one finger to start the loop. If you can manage your first piano notes with the other nine fingers, map the drum loop to the first note beyond the zone split point and play it at the same time as your first chord strike in the performance. Make that drum loop sample part of the first chord strike.
note that you can alter tempo according to which note you use to play the drum loop. also note that if you hit two notes at the same time, the result will be very ugly. this can be avoided by engaging mono mode.
