The organ section generates it's sound from algorithms, not samples.

My mistake. Is that why they can’t be changed with the sound manager?

Why won't the bread toast when I put it on my Stage 3 88?! I've been contacting the company for months, with no response from Nord. It's time the company caters to my needs! (Sorry . . . couldn't resist)

Quite so. But look on the bright side: there is no polyphonic limit on the organ engine (unlike the sample and piano engines), and the algorithms are far richer than any mundane sample playback could hope to be.

For example, back in the pre-clonewheel days, I optimistically invested in a Kurzweil-specific B3 sample set. Individual samples for maybe a dozen fixed drawbar combinations. They ate up SO much sample memory (you had a pittance to begin with in those days), and you couldn't adjust the drawbar settings themselves. In a word, inorganic. It ended up on the shelf, largely unused.

The question is something a non-sequitur. On one hand, yes, Sound Manager only lets you swap samples, and the organ sound is not derived from samples. OTOH, Sound Manager is whatever Nord wants it to be. If the NS3 is architecturally capable of having new organ algorithms loaded into it, and if Nord ever decided they wanted to give the user the option of loading in different algorithms, theoretically they could create a way to do it via Sound Manager.

Since the organ sounds come from different emulation engines (B3, Vox, Farf, etc) rather than discrete samples I would imagine any changes to these sounds would occur within an OS update. I see what you mean. I guess the problem is that if they did that you could only have one algorithm at a time. The most likely way they would ever implement this (which I don't think they ever would), but speaking hypothetically they would load multiple organ algorithms in and have you select them via the SOUND submenu. This is already the case, actually, with their "Vintage" settings.

Yes. They have done things like update the rotary emulation algorithms via OS update. I imagine that, if they want to, they could even design the Sound Manager so that it would also be the program you'd run to do OS updates. Not that there's any reason to.

But here's the thing; If Clavia are not fixing the Organ section Chorus and Percussion, they have to at least fix the sampling so we can upload our own B3 samples with Chorus and Percussion.

However, we can do neither and that does not sit well with me as a purchaser of a professional instrument.

That would not be any kind of solution. A sampled B3 would be worse in numerous other ways (for example low polyphony, no high trigger point, likely phase issues, no drawbar tweaking), AND the Chorus and Percussion would still be wrong besides. A "baked in" sampled chorus would sound wrong because it would not be synchronized among multiple keys playing simultaneously (between sample stretching and hitting different keys at different times), and percussion would trigger on every key instead of only triggering when no other notes were held.

I would use the sample to "Thicken" and add bite to the base Organ panel; not replace the organ.
