Hi Guys!

Just got my hands on a Stage 2 88 last week - great stuff. I have a question regarding cases. I bought the NS2 88 official case for mine as I have a NE3 with the Nord case and its fantastic. I haven't actually used the NS2 88 case yet as I'm not sure whether I want to keep it. Here's why:

1) The NS 2 88 case has wheels which might be useful on the smooth streets of Scandanavia, but here in England our streets surfaces are mostly pretty rough and badly maintained with lots of bumps, mud and general crap.

2) There is no shoulder strap of any description, either back pack style or shoulder bag style. ( I know the NS is much heavier the the Electro, but for getting in and out of venues, this would still be hugely useful)

3) The wheels and the integrated stand (which incidentally doesn't work even when the case is empty - no way would I trust it!) add quite a bit of extra length to the case, which makes it awkward to get in my car.

So my question is (drum roll please), is there an alternative case for the NS2 88 which fits and protects as well as the Nord case but has a shoulder strap and no wheels?

Some time ago I actually went the opposite route and got a super-rugged hard case (Pelican 1770) for my NS2-88. I have no problems rolling it through mud, rain, college-campus brick pathways, etc., although it is quite heavy. 19kg sounds like quite a lot to carry on your back anyway, plus a couple kilos more for the case, cabling, stand, etc...

Yep I have seen pelican and skb cases before, in fact my rack stuff used to be in an SKB case for the road. Thanks for the link to your other post too. I used to have all my boards in flightcases, bought from flightcase warehouse here in the UK, which was an absolute must for touring, however its just me and my car and my Nord Stage now. The reason that I don't want to go down the hard case route is that hard cases destroy car interiors like nothing else (actually drum hardware is the worst!). I'm just after a soft case that fits and protects as well as the Nord case, that doesn't have wheels but does have some sort of shoulder strap(s). Obviously its a heavy beast but its just for carrying from my car into venues - I can live with the pain momentarily
