Hey guys
I have programmed I sound that has a grand piano = strings on one panel and on the second panel i have a B3 sound and on the synth section a choir sound from the sample library.
My question is - when I play this program with all sounds active - the piano sound feels like it has a slight latency....it feels like it has a hard time handling all sounfpds together.
What could that be ...

Re: NS3 layering problem
The B3 triggers faster and erlier than the other sounds. That could be what makes it feel like this.
Have you tried just turning of the B3 or set the triggering point to low?

Re: NS3 layering problem
Yes, I think the main reason you would even WANT to set organ triggering to low (which is generally less desirable for organ playing) is so that it will be triggering at the same time as other layered sounds, instead of triggering more quickly. I suspect that's the issue. The other sounds mentioned (strings, choir) don't have the sharp attack that piano and organ do. There are attack parameters you can adjust, but they should only be able to make those sounds come in further behind the piano, not ahead of it. (BTW, unless I missed something, I don't think 1.24 has any known change that would affect latency.)

Well, I kept my reply (too) short, so technically you are right -- the latency fix came in 1.22:
On the Nord Webpage / Release Notes they wrote:1.22
...
Piano: Improved response when using both Panels and playing many notes.
So the longer version of my reply should have been: Earlier OS versions had some issues that would be most noticeable when layering several pianos and playing many notes, especially in rapid succession. This may or may not be releated to what the OP perceived. Since we don't know what kind of testing the OP is doing, I just wanted to rule out that the OP was not on 1.14 or some earlier release, and since 1.24 is the latest, I just mentioned that
Other than that, I agree that having the organ set to high trigger point is also a (more) likely candidate.

Re: NS3 layering problem
Thanks everybody for your responses. How ever my nord is updated to the latest os and the b3 sound does not matter cause the sound I am speaking about does not have the B3 sound on it
Any other ideas?
