NS2 List of presets and samples?

Hi zahush,

I understand you thoughts, but don't forget the NS2 is not a rompler like we know that from workstations like triton, motif or fantom.
We have three sections, organ, piano and synthsection.

Do you know the organs b3, fafisa, cont. Fox?
You also can hear the pianos on the nord-page.
The synth-section is totaly different as the "old" one in the NS1. Now you can download samples from the homepage into your NS2. So you can make your NS2 very individuel and it's still not compareable with a typical rompler. (thank you for that!)
But you can go to the nordpage and listen to the demos of the samples. There are some of the best synths available.

I know this very well since i had the nord stage classic for almost 5 years and sold it to upgrade to the NS2. I wanted to know what's on the NS2 exactly because i want to start thinking how i'm going to customize it for my needs.

Hi all,

Find attached the list put into an Excel spreadsheet, with the correct patch numbers associated in front of it.
I also corrected some of the patchnames (some were missing, some missed the first part).
I also added the Type of patch behind it.
I formatted the sheet in such a way that when you print it, you get it nicely duplex on an A4.
(now that my brand new NS2 is still pristine, this was the moment to create it, before I started meddling with the allocations and samples ;-)

UPDATE: I also completed the list of sample- and synth-names. Its in the second tab of the Excel spreadsheet.

Hi Hanon, I´m a Nord Wave owner and I´m waiting for the new brass samples that Nord had announced since the end of March, and now I see a list you posted NS2_List.txt that has a couple of samples like Brass Section Pop 1 ste BR
Brass Section Pop 2 ste BR that aren´t in the sample library of the Nord web page, do you know if these samples came only for the Stage 2 ? Thanks.

Hi Diego,
I didn't even notice that there were samples in there that weren't available from the Nord site.
I'll have to assume that they're currently only available on the NS2.
That's disappointing
Now I have to go edit some incorrect posts....

It would be ideal if there was a way to see which samples were used by which patches. Then you'd be able to know whether it was "safe" to remove a sample without affecting any of the patches you cared about.

I wish the sound manager itself could "warn" you when you go to delete a sample, "This sample is used by the following patches, are you sure you want to delete it?" and then, if you said yes, "Do you want to delete the associated patches as well?" That would make the whole process simpler and cleaner. As it is, it's a lot of work to be sure you're not wrecking a sound you want to keep, and to be sure you don't end up with "dead" patches that don't function properly because their samples are missing.
