NS2 and NS2ex compatibility

Post by chopinmanu »

Hi to everyone, i've a question on compatibility between nord stage 2 and 2ex. I own a NS2 and usually i download in bundle files all the patches of the 4 banks. Is it possible to upload this files on a NS2ex? Will it work correctly, with all split point and samples i have on my NS's synth section?
Thank you.

Hi, they are 100% compatible! The only difference between the 2 models is the amount of Piano Samples memory, the rest is identical.

For Bundle files you shouldn't even need a rename, if I remember well (worst case, you can rename the bundle file to ".zip" and unzip it to see and load the individual Programs, Samples etc.. and the same "trick" can be done with backup files)

Totally compatible. I upgraded from NS2 to the NS2EX, and it was painless.
I just erased all the factory programs, pianos and samples, loaded my bundles (no need for renaming, only the full backup needs that), and started playing as nothing ever happened...except that I still had 500 MB free for more pianos!
