Re: Nord Stage 3 pedal program up/down
Do you use a two switches pedal, one for up and one for down?

The NS3 is designed to use a two switch pedal, connected via a TRS jack, but you may still use a single one though: you need an adapter like this one
and connect the single pedal to only one of the "channels" (up/down)

Re: Nord Stage 3 pedal program up/down
Just preordered a Stage 3 HP76...
Now, I am very interested, if there is a posibility to do the up/down-control via midi CC?
The reason: I don't wonna carry multiple foot pedals around, but rather use one single foot pedal board.
So to say: Getting the functionality of the up/down-plug with a pedal board (like e.g. Behringer FCB-1010).
Anyone tried?
Or is there another solution I missed?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Nord Stage 3 pedal program up/down
I guess it will only work with an analog signal from a switch.
Something like this will do the job : http://www.thomann.de/de/boss_fs6.htm
I fully understand your resignation for multiple pedals. With 2 or more board, I have double up. 2 control/volumepedals, and 2 sustainpedals, and a lot of cables. And which pedal control that board now - no, wrong pedal ...

Re: Nord Stage 3 pedal program up/down
Does this mean that program changes can't be received via MIDI on the Stage 3?
That could be a huge deal breaker for me if so. My setup has a Roland FC-300 for changing programs on my Korg SV-1 and in Mainstage. I assumed that the Nord could be integrated into this setup with no problem.

You can send absolute Program Changes (indicating the exact program you want to select) but there is no MIDI CC to send a "Program up/down" which is a relative command (go to 1 Program up/down from the current one).
So, unless the pedalboard has some logic to handle the relative increment/decrement of the Program Changes generated by itself, you can't replace the function of the up/down double switch.
But also the SV1 can't handle program up/down so the NS3 in your setup should work just "as usual".

For that Reason I already engineered a custom Arduino based MIDI-Board, that worked like a charm so far with Mainstage. It can be used by just one single MIDI-Cable (I used Pins 1 and 3 (not used by MIDI at all) for 5V power supply).
The cool thing: Just some slight changes in the µController concerning MIDI CCs and it seems 100% compatible with the Stage 3.
Since I’m now redesigning it mechanically with a second Expression Pedal (for organ swell on CC #4), I could also easily add two switches for the Program Up/Down stuff...
Maybe in Stage 4 it will be featured - although easily implementable via software in any Board (some free CC #s are still left ).
Anyone knows where to get 5V from the boards inside the Stage 3?
