Hi
Today I updated my Stage 3 compact 73 to the new OS 1.28. After this the volume/swell pedal only works for the Organ Parts. Other sounds , especially piano's , are randomly no more controlled.
This problem already exists in earlier OS and was corrected with OS 1.22 . No again it is there.
Anybody has the same problem? Can I downgrade to OS 1.26 , which works just fine!
Does somebody still have this OS on his computer and send it to me ?

Re: Nord Stage 3 OS 1.28 update
This is a known issue and has been reported.

You can downgrade to 1.26, which will solve this problem. If you can't find a copy, I can post it tomorrow-

Re: Nord Stage 3 OS 1.28 update
Are you sure it is not now actually functioning correctly and was broken before? The swell is an organ function, and it isn’t linear like a “normal” volume pedal.
To control the other engines, why not attach it to the control input and use it to morph the volume?.
Of course, if you need that control input for other morphs simultaneously, I can see that this would be a problem.

Re: Nord Stage 3 OS 1.28 update
The NS3 is a complex product. There are many parts (also in sw) and interworking between them can be difficult to get right sometimes. Nord is not, in my mind, "in an infantile stage" -- they have chosen to give us very frequent releases, and the risk is that some errors may more easily creep in unnoticed. I prefer that to very infrequent releases. If you don't like that, just wait a week before you upgrade to see if any errors have crept in.
I agree that regressions are not nice, and should not happen, but in all honesty, we've actually seen only very few of these -- instead we have been seeing a steady steam of bug fixes and improvements (mostly) on an almost bi-weekly schedule or thereabout.
YMMV.

Yeah, I'm not into abusing the Nord software developers. This is a hugely ambitious instrument.
I think I have gear issues ....

Ambitious is definitely the right word for this beast. Was it ready for primetime? Maybe not quite yet, but I'd rather have it at this bleeding edge stage than go back to my Electro.

I strongly agree with your points and they will get it right. I wish they would communicate more frequently on a regular basis, especially when their schedules slip. But, all in all, Nord ships updates at a regular pace with solid improvements that almost always take the product forward. Occasionally the updates take a step backward. If you stop and think about it, how many other keyboard companies are constantly and iteratively making their products much better with new features? Love my non-Nord products, but good luck trying to get new features on them. Couldn't recommend Nord more. They set a high bar.

Re: Nord Stage 3 OS 1.28 update
Whenever I try to get business matter formulated just right to make it clear where I stand without unduly offending anyone or risking misreading, it invariably takes hours to get it right.
I’m sure the engineers and other good people at Nord would much rather spend that time fixing stuff, assembling machines, and getting software and libraries done, so they can get home to spend Christmas with their loved ones with a clean conscience.
I’d prefer more direct communication, too, but more than that, I’d prefer a fixed Hammond, full Stage 3 sample archive, and the editor.
