Nord Stage 2: Bank select and Program change (MSB + LSB)

Postby Rene » 13 May 2011, 00:45

Does somebody know how I can send programchanges with mainstage to my NS2 to different banks. I like to adress the programs in the D bank from my NS2. Like D 4.1
Thanks,
Rene

i read the manual very quickly, but couldn't find any information about how the NS2 banks are numbered.... perhaps Clavia has forgotten to include that information within the manual? i suggest you contact the support for correct answers.

please post back what they said.

Hi Henrik,
I'll do that.
First I will ask the shop where I bought my NS2
Cheers,
Rene

Hi Henrik,
I have been in contact with Nord. I have got the information and it is working.
To adres the Progamchanges from the NS2 in
Bank A: You need to put bank select MSB = 0 and LSB = 0
Bank B: You need to put bank select MSB = 0 and LSB = 1
Bank C: You need to put bank select MSB = 0 and LSB = 2
Bank D: You need to put bank select MSB = 0 and LSB = 3
Programchange 100, 101, 102, 103, 104 are allway the live mode. The banknumbers are not working there

I have a strange behaviour here :
I'm trying to access the B bank using an AX7 controller.

Entering the SLB/MSB/CC (c00 C32 and pc) works fine.
But when I save the configuration in a bank slot (let's say C00=0 C32=1 PC=4 in slot A55) on the AX7, if I select another alot then back to A55, it does not change the MSB/LSB/CC ?

I need to stay in "edit mode" and change the CC value to trigger the Nord B Bank.

I've been doing this for years... getting old ?

Thanks for any advice !

To edit/save a patch on the AX-7:

First, make sure you have the 'Lower' layer red light on, then...
Press 'Edit' and change the C00 (MSB), C32 (LSB), and patch change number.
Press and hold 'WRITE' - press A (or) B + desired slot number + Enter

This should save the patch/slot settings for recall.

I have a simple Excel file to help translate Nord Stage 2 to Midi. It might be of some help.
