newbie question on samples

Postby SOULidarity » 12 Nov 2017, 23:26

Is there a way to get a list of all the preloaded raw samples on the board and select any of them to be osc 1 to build a patch? All I can seem to do is get the preprogrammed patches

thx

So the Nord Stage operates in one of three modes: Song Mode, where you have a set of programs in the hotkeys (1-5) that are set up for a particular song, Live Mode which features real-time destructive editing of the current program, or Program Mode, which is the default. At any given time, the Nord is running some sort of program in one of the three modes. In order to build a fresh patch, you need to first navigate to an empty user program slot and then you will have a dark panel (think of Panels A&B as separate instances of the entire keyboard). You can now turn on the synth section and select which sample you want for OSC1 and build on that from there. I think you have to scroll all the way to bank F or G to do this. It's not immediately intuitive and Nord throws in a LOT of (admittedly cool) default programs, but these can be shifted around, edited, or erased according to your taste. DONT FORGET, you need to actively save (and preferable name) your Program before navigating away or you will lose your progress. Hope this helps!

You can use the Export Sound Lists function in Nord Sound Manager to generate a list of all of the samples loaded on your NS3. You can also use the List function for the OSC 1 WAVEFORM to see a list of samples on the display.
