Re: MIDI presets for NS2 in Set List Maker
Hi - not sure about the song name, but I have a label that can be selected for the patch change which is less fiddly than a small icon as in the picture if that helps? So my 3 choosable presets on the song shown are M50 Rock Organ Overdrive, Nord Grand and M50 brass and saxophone shown at the bottom....

Yes, some midi interfaces are not really gig friendly. Bulky and with wires...
I'm using this little wireless midi interface that was crowd funded a while back. It works great with the Set List Maker app!

Mothy wrote:I also use SLM. I play a lot of session work, and have now many databases, 1 for each band I play with. Within each database is a list of all the relevant songs, and midi presets for each song in each band. I then have a number of shows for each band depending on where their performance is. I work with 2 keyboards - the NS2 and a Korg M50, with the M50 set to receive on midi channel 2 and the Nord on channel 1. SLM has proved brilliant for switching patches mid song, as in some cases I have assigned many different sounds to the same song on different keyboards.
I use Irig2 to connect all devices together, and make copius use of the 'learn' function in slm when assigning a new midi preset. I did try to make a 'common sounds' page for those adhoc gigs, but this needs a bit of work. I use it with an ipad which fits onto my QuikLock stand. The only downside is the irig hangs awkwardly down the back as I have yet to invest in a stand for this. Would recommend SLM to anyone!
I've a question about this. I'm planning on using SLM together with the iRig midi 2. Do you connect both your keyboards to the iRig by midi? If so, can you use the 'Thru' as an input? I thought the iRig has only 1 midi in. How does this work exactly?
Thanks!

does anybody know how i can delete all Midi Presets with one click? I importet die File attached above but forgot to create a midi device "NS2". So now i have 400 midipresets and can only delete one by one.

Cool! Just like the charts I hand write out and I do have a hell of lot of them.
If we learn a new song whether it's going in the set or a one off, I write out the chord chart and keep it in the folder.
It's a bit of a mess though and the folder's getting full.
The bass player I think uses iRealbook for jotting charts out.
SLM does look a neat idea even if it's just to write chord charts out initially.
I have an iPad but it's really for using with our QU16 mixer. Could get confusing using it for both particularly when the sound
man has it out the front!
For most gigs though I mix sound from the stage.
