Hi,
I can confirm some of the mentioned points above.
I have that problem that the MW (for morphing important), the pitch stick and the leslie via pedal are not working when I chance to Local Off, because I play with 7 other synths and handle that with the Miditemp. (midimatrix).
All that was working wonderfull with the NS classic, but I have to implement my NS2 to my Equipment and the Midichannels are not working properly as well the controllers. It sucks.

I don't hear a difference either. What is MY operator error?
I can switch between the 3 modes just fine. --> no change in sound at all!
I'd like to get the hammond sound as "smokey" and old as I could with my B4 VST. Didn't manage that yet!

Please help!

Hello All,
please check to see that you have the latest OS v1.30 just released July 6th 2011 before posting any bug additional complaints.

For a list of issues addresses with this release see this thread:

Can anywone explain the rhyme and reason for the behavior of the Init buttons on the Stage 2?

What I have gathered so far is the following:

When a given instrument is already the active program, using the Init button for that instrument will generally 1) remove all splits, 2) preserve all other settings from the active program for that instrument, 3) turn off all effects but redirect effects to that instrument. Exception: Organ init will set Drive level under the rotary speaker to 5.0 which is rather extreme for a default.

When a given instrument is not already the active program, the Init button for that instrument will 1) remove all splits, 2) redirect effects to that instrument, but 3) give varying results for other settings: The Piano Init will initialize Grand, Type 1 without Release or Resonance. The Synth Init will initialize a seemingly random set of wave forms and other settings. The Organ will initialize B3, first three drawbars full out, Leslie on Slow, Drive at 5.0 (again, extreme for a default) and Vibrato and Percussion off.

Is there a way to control the settings the instruments will default to when the Init button is selected?

The one behavior that bothers me the most is the Organ Init initiating Drive at 5.0. The others I can live with because I can simply make sure I have the instrument active before using the Init button.

Thanks for any light you can shed

For me also, I have OS 1.4 and I can switch between tonewheels but there is no difference in sound. Do I need to do something more to achieve this?

Thanks!

Hi Johannes
based on the discussion in the respective thread I recommend to add one line in the MIDI section of the Bugs/known issues
- Activation of SlotA AND SlotB is not supported via MIDI. Only activation of SlotA OR SlotB (MIDI CC68)

Regards Thomas

List of Nord Stage 2 known issues/bugs

More issues regarding to Dual Keyb Mode.
- Extern B section does not send note messages in Dual Kb mode. (Amazing that isn't solved yet).
- Control Pedal must be attached to the keyboard you want to use, is not possible to use one pedal for both keyboards.

Can anyone check that this is right, and i'm not nuts? I can't believe they have not solved those mistakes.

NS2 MIDI bug?

Postby GRod926 » 19 Nov 2011, 17:19

Wondering if any of you have found this issue - I'm using NS2 as slave and MotifXS as master. It seems that while the manual says program change messages are transmitted via the global channel, the NS2 two only respondes to Pgm chng messages on the slot channels?

Please let me know if you find the same thing or if I'm crazy...

I've been trying to work some pretty cool setups, so far i have it where Motif calls up patches, can layer sounds with ns on some, control sounds in others, and have ns sounds layered with motif sounds while having a separate patch sounding ns keyed.

One setup I'm having difficulty with, and I believe it's because I can't use the global channel as its supposed to, I'd like to control both synth panels from the motif and have a piano sound on the Nord...

Any help would be appreciated, - GRod926

I'm experiencing this as well with my new Stage 2 Compact (ver 1.4). Any help would be welcome! Thanks in advance....
