Keyboard with NS2 keys

Postby lennaerttol » 12 Aug 2011, 11:49

Hi,

I love the keys of a NS2 HA88. I already own a NE3 and since I don't use the synth section, €3500 for only keys is a bit too expensive for me. Does anyone know a cheap synth/workstation/keyboard that has the same keys as the NS2 HA88?

Hi lennaerttol,

i´m not shure, but i think nord is using a fatar keyboard action. Kurzweil and studiologic are also using fatar keys. If you want a cheap workstation i would try the kurzweil PC3LE8 (http://www.kurzweilmusicsystems.com/Product.php?id=206)

Greetings Tom

Yes. Clavia is useing fatar keybeds so maybe you should tjek out some of fatars own keyboards such as studiologic sl-990 xp or pro. They would probably have the action your looking for

That's a good suggestion.

Also, If 76 keys are enough, the weighted NS keys are similar to the keys on the older Kurzweil PC1SE which, if you can still locate one, would be less expensive, and lighter.

Either way, the Kurz pieces also have a bunch of really nice sounds of their own (though the sounds in the LE8 are a generation newer than the SE), and they also have good MIDI controller functions that will make it easy to integrate their boards with an NE3.

As far as I'm aware NS2 HA76, HA88 and NP use Fatar TP/40L. Similar keybed is used in Kurzweil SP2X, SP3X, PC3X. There are few Studiologic/Fatar products using TP/40. The most important thing is to make sure the MIDI keyboard that you gonna use properly connects in terms of action (velocity curves) to NE3. I have NE3 and NS2 SW73. Kurzweil SP2X works nice with them as a master board.
