Re: NS3 OS Update 1.40
Nice feature - if it has been there from the beginning.
Annoying that now I have to change all my midi program changes (from Ipdad).

Re: NS3 OS Update 1.40
It is a very nice update; it makes program changes much faster in a live situation
The full update history is available also:
v1.40 (2018-04-10)
A new Numeric Pad mode is introduced as an optional way of navigating within a program bank. In Numeric Pad mode two presses on the Program 1-5 buttons are used for navigating to any of the 25 programs within the current bank. The program selection mode used – the default Page Based mode, or Numeric Pad – is determined on page 2 of the System Menu. Here are some additional notes:
Note: Nord Sound Manager v7.28 or later is required for compatibility with Nord Stage 3 OS v1.40.
The specification for bank size (Program, Song, Synth Preset) over MIDI has been changed. One MIDI LSB bank now addresses as many Nord Stage 3 banks (Program, Song, Synth Preset) as it can fit. As a result, the first 5 program banks (A-E) on the Nord Stage 3 are all reached with a Bank LSB value of 0, the next group of 5 banks (F-J) with Bank LSB 1 etc.
Hanging notes could occur when changing Extern channels, for example by changing between programs with different Extern settings. Fixed.
Hanging notes could occur if holding sustain pedal and changing global MIDI channel. Fixed.

The program selection mode used – the default Page Based mode, or Numeric Pad – is determined on page 2 of the System Menu. Here are some additional notes:
- In Numeric Pad mode the Page buttons switch between banks.
- The Program dial can be used for switching programs incrementally, just as in Page Based mode.
- Program Selection mode does not affect Song Mode or Live program selection.
- A “num” symbol in the top right corner of the display indicates that Numeric Pad navigation is active.
- The programs within each bank are numbered 11-15, 21-25, 31-35, 41-45 and 51-55.
- The total number of Program banks is 16, labeled A-P
- The total number of program locations is still 400
- The order in which programs are placed on the Nord Stage 3 is not altered by this update, and Song lists will remain intact.

Wow, I think I no longer miss "pending load" mode - this all sounds great! Gonna try it today!

Re: NS3 OS Update 1.40
Just installed both OS version 1.4 and the new sound manager (1.78).
When trying to download a Bundle I got the following error message.
The bundel you have selected does not match the content version of the connected instrument.
(bundle is V4, instrument is V5).
Make sure you are using the latest version of both Nord sound manager and the instrument OS.
A strange message because I just updated all.
I looks like they changed the bundle version.
I just bought a sound bundle and I'm not able to load it.
Any suggestions??

Re: NS3 OS Update 1.40
Well Done Nord!!!!
I haven't installed or used the numeric feature yet, but program access was one of my initial pet peeves coming from other keyboards. So I guess instead of H being the last Bank, it is now P since they divided 50/2 = 25 programs per bank.
I am extremely and humbly impressed that Nord listens to it's customers and provides this kind of response. Just WOW. It really is a brilliant compromise.
I will also have to remap my midi program changes, but big deal. I can handle that no problem as a compromise for getting this feature.
Well done and Thank You Nord for listening to your customers. This goes a long way with me.

Haha. Nooo.
Its a very crucial feature.
I have to try the update later.
I am curious how much faster it will be.

Re: NS3 OS Update 1.40
I change programs via external tools (GigPerformer or Set List Maker). No need for me to spin the program dial to find patches. I understand the need.
I now have to reconfigure Set List Maker and GigPerformer (400+ songs) for 4 different acts. I had everything nicely organized into the 8 banks on the NS3. After this upgrade, I may also have to do some reorganization so the banks make sense to me. Crap, this is going to take some time to reprogram and test. I think I will defer this update until I know I have time re-program my show rig and can come up with a plan to migrate.
Anybody else in the same situation? Please post any experience you have re-configuring your show rig.
