Hi to those who already made the plunge,
I'm about to do the same. Apart from the compatibility issue, I think I can deal with that, I would like to know about the regrets some of you may have had, I'm concerned about the synthesiser that is quite different from the NS2 . From the specs, it seems to do much more, but are there any sounds from the 2 that cannot be reproduced on the 3?
Best regards,
JPR

No regrets at all.

The only thing for me is the pre reverb on the Leslie.
I had the Electro 5D 73 and loved the organ. I’m happy I did not sold my Neo Vent 2.
The Stage 3 is a great keyboard
Regards,

Heh. That's a "plus" for the Stage 3 for me.

Re: From NS2 to NS3, any down side?
Some of us have a quite specific problem with the piano section, where the 'feel' is quite different from the Stage 2. Just check the numerous discussions on the 'velocity curve' issue. If you use the piano a lot, I would for sure take considerable time at some music shop to play the Stage 3 and see if you like it.
I sold (with regret!) my Stage 3-88 after 5 month and got back to Stage 2EX88, as I didn't enjoy playing the 3. Happy to have my Stage 2EX88 back...

For me, the midi limitations are a bummer. Not a deal breaker but, simply incomprehensible. Why would Nord choose to dumb down the midi capabilities of its flagship instrument while upgrading just about everything else is beyond me.

Re: From NS2 to NS3, any down side?
Other than the issues mentioned above, going from NS2 to NS3 is a *huge* upgrade.
I don't do that much with midi. I have an external signal chain for the B3 (Vent II followed by reverb) although the internal one is more than adequate. And I use an external keyboard (a NP2) to get a nice feel on the piano action.
I found the comment on "going back to the NS2EX keyboard feel" a bit puzzling. I had a NS276 and never really liked the weighted action. Maybe it was the sponginess of the aftertouch strip below, dunno. Sure, I'd suck it up, but could never bond with it.

I think I have gear issues ....

Re: From NS2 to NS3, any down side?
I had my NS2 for 5 years. As soon as the NS3 was announced, I checked the feature set and ordered it immediately. For me, the NS3C is one of the best instrument purchases I have ever made. Huge upgrade, Synth, Displays, keybed, sound quality, much more (like center detents on the mod knobs). Had my NS2 pre sold for 65% of what I paid 5 years earlier.
