Easy way to determine what samples are used in programs

Postby thejam1999 » 20 Nov 2011, 12:04

Hi there,

I think subject says all. I want to clean up the sample section to make room for new ones.
Is there an easy way to determine what samples are in use by programs?

if not this would be a good feature for the Nord sound manager.

I don't think this is possible, but one thing I noticed when I connected with the Nord Sound Manager is that the first 116 synth presets are pretty well aligned with the 116 factory-loaded samples (at least they shared similar names), while the remainder of the synth sounds mostly use waveforms.

If a better way to do this does exists, then at this point I don't want to know. I just spent half my Saturday cleaning up and re-organizing my entire sample library. Lots of work, but in the end, it is well worth it!

Indeed would be great if a future version of the NSM would include this info.
If you have a zipped file (e.g., the backup one) of your installed patches, you can use this tool to find unused samples: nord-stage-forum-f3/topic1233.html

Sorry for bumping this old topic, but I'm curious if this is possible today in the Nord Sound Manager? I also need to do some clean up, but I'm not sure what samples are unused.
Thanks.

When you select a piano/sample, Nord Sound Manager shows you if it's used, and by which programs

Does this work with the Nord Wave also?

I think so, but I don't have a Wave so I can't be 100% sure
