Copying one Nord Stage 2 to another

Postby mfiorentino » 03 Feb 2017, 11:17

Hi there my fellow Nord'ers! :)

I am looking at creating a more easy workflow, when touring abroad, and want to ask you guys about something.

Instead of travelling with my Nord stage 2, it is sometimes easier to rent one at the venue - especially when flying. So, my question is: Is it possible to "dump" samples and presets (including the live ones) onto a Mac, then throw it onto the rented NS2 (and afterwards "revert" the rented one back to factory presets)? :?:

Have any of you tried this? If so, are there pros / cons / considerations?

:keyboard2:

Best,
Massimo

Right, you need the Nord Sound Manager and then create Bundles or a full Backup, to Restore on the rented NS2 (which after the show you can revert to factory by downloading the Factory Backup available on Nord website downloads) ;-)

Ah but of course! That would be it! Thanks! One thing is though that the files might be huge and it can take quite a while, but overall, the best solution! Thanks again!

Be aware that backup files saved with the latest OS seem to be incompatible with old OS instruments. So maybe it is best to take with you the latest OS installation files as well, so you can update the rented instruments if necessary.

Note 2: Backup files created from instruments with this OS can not be used on instruments with OS version below 2.20
