Can't Download

Postby pmharth » 08 Nov 2010, 19:23

Hi -
I just purchased a NORD STAGE EX. I am trying to download the GRAND LADY piano. I have a PC with windows Vista. The NORD OS is 5.16. I first installed the USB driver, then the NORD Sound Manager. No problems. I connected the usb cable, started the NORD and went to the NORD dwonload site. I copied the Grand lady piano (78mb) to a folder. Took about 5 min. The file shows a type of .npno. Next, using th manager I deleted a bunch of stuff (pianos, programs) creating about 82mb free space. I went to the piano section and used the "cleaning" feature to clean the empty space. In the manager, I click the "Download" tab, and go to the folder with the Grand Lady file. I can't drag and drop it, something prevents me from doing this. I've tried everything and it will not load the file to my NORD. The USB connection seems to work as it allowed me to delete sounds. I've spent two hours nutzing around with this and getting nowhere.

Thanks,

Pete

Did you click on the "Organize" button in the Nord Sound Manager on the top left?

You can only copy samples to their own sections. Like grand pianos go to the grand section, and the rhodes sounds go to the E.Piano section.
You can also not copy samples to the program section. Programs are made on the keyboard itself.

Hope any of this helps.

Thanks-
I did try all of these things and I still have a problem: The download looks like it worked (the sound manager shows it's in there with the correct file size, etc.). I just can't find it on the instrument. It doesn't appear anywhere!

heers,

Pete

That's strange.

Are you sure, your not confusing the samples from the programs.

You load the samples into the keyboard. Then you have to select them manually by holding shift and then clicking "Live 1" button(where it says piano below).

Then you have selected the piano section, which alow you to choose between the different samples.
Under the text "Piano Select" on the keyboard you can shoose the different samples. The button on the left chooses category, with the triangle light showing witch category is active. Then click the right button to choose which type you want. You will see the numbers change(but there may be only one sample in each category depending on what you downloaded to the keyboard).
If you want to know which sample is selected hold the shift button and then hold the piano category button(with the word info below it). Then you can see what sample is selected on the screen.

The programs are setups that you can make yourself. They contain every information about what you want to save to a specific program. Which samples, which effects, splits/layers and setting you want, are all saved under one program. You can even name the programs what you want, and save them to the location you want.

Sorry if I'm way off here. Just trying to help.

cbas-
I am finally getting back to my NORD after a week overseas. I tried your suggestions and solved the problem in less than a minute.

Thanks.

Cheers,

Pete
