Re: Toto's "Africa" SynthBrass Sound

Here is another patch for Toto - Africa :
Fe Africa#1.ns2p
(547 Bytes) Downloaded 1054 times

The left hand is made from a saw wave (that was the challenge for me, not to use sample this time !)
The right hand is using "DX7IIC Jazz Guitar_ste BR.nsmp" from Nord's library and "EP5 bright tines" from the EPianos.
To hear the sound (played live, challenging for me !!) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PDqcQQ7n0k

Hi Helmuth

I have the NS EX88, therefore all the samples are not compatible files for my piano.

Do you know what sounds and/or settings you used to achieve the Toy Piano sample? Any help would be great, so I can try create my own on the EX.

Thanks for your help. Regards!

Tracey

the "toy piano" on Africa is an instrument called a Kalimba, if you can find somebody to sample that....it's pretty common on Korg Tritons, Yamaha Motifs, and Roland Fantoms.

Or you can use the NS2 Marimba sample with some EQ ;-)

On the NS EX you can try to get it using FM on the Synth section! Find a similar sound from the Synth presets of the NS an try tweaking it!

The .nsmp file is a sample.

The other .ns2p file is a Stage 2 program file.

Hi all,

I'm very new to the stage 2, i have it for a few days.
I downloaded the sample and the program and they are very nice!

I was wondering if there is also a sample for the flute (i guess) wich is played in the Solo.
Is it possible to insert this as a third split. I'm still very 'nooby' with the stage 2.

Greetz,

Jelle
