I like my Nord Piano 88.
I bought the RD700NX and returned it, didn't like the action
or the sounds.
I just wish the P88's Acoustic Pianos had the richness and body of the Electric Grand.
The Electeic Grand is beautiful and really needs no EQ.
I don't know if the Nord sound engineers can do such a thing, but I believe they absolutely
should give us that option.
I utilize the EQ quite a bit for adding back in the low end
and removing the high end sizzle.
I like the P88's low end and higher registers.
The octave above middle C seems to need more "oomph" however.
I'm going to add an external parametric EQ soon and see if I can restore
a bit more "body" to the middle register.
Any of you P88 or Stage 2 players dealing with the same and have you found any fixes
you'd like to share?

I use external (15 band X 2) equalization with my Nord. I generally roll off the high end and do a little midrange boost on the right channel, and a lesser amount of the same on the left. Of course, this is dependent on your speakers and sound preference.
Lately I've been playing the Bright Grand.

Re: Want the body/richness of E. Grand in Acoustic Pianos
I don't play music where the Electric grand is required so I deleted it at the beginning. Having owned and schlepped the original CP70 around in the '70s, I was never a fan of the original truth be told.
I too use the Yamaha Bright Grand & Bosie sample. The only area where I find the new Yamaha sample lacking is the very top octaves--say 2 octaves above middle C and up. It's not as realistic sounding in this area as the CP5 but otherwise both the Bosendorfer & Yamaha bright grand sound VERY rich through my speakers-RCF TT08As.

Added a Speck ASC-T parametric to the right channel only.
Playing with the low-mid midrange helps a bit.
Wish I could get that ballsy full- bodied sound heard on Electeic Grand patch.

I usually judge the initial quality of a sample off the midrange since that's where I'll be doing most playing. C3-C5. Most digital pianos sound like toys in that region.
