Re: U.S. ship date for Nord Piano 3 ?

Hello I'm new here, but have lurked for awhile before finally pulling the trigger on a Nord Piano 3. I pulled the trigger blindly because I used to own the NP2 and knew I would love the sound. The reason I sold the NP2 was because of the action. It was loud and not as responsive as I would hope a $3K instrument to be. I read a brief review (on this forum) about the NP3 and how the action was improved in both responsiveness and audible noise. Can any users that currently have the NP3 describe the action a little more? I'm particularly interested in how smooth and "relatively" quiet it is. I know all actions make noise, but my NP2 had such a loud clunking sound that it was distracting while using headphones. Thanks everyone in advance!

The Piano 3 has arrived! Having owned Electros I knew what to expect regarding the sounds so for me it comes down to the action and portability. No problem on the latter - it's got to be one of the lightest 88-key digitals out there. The action is very good, no doubt, in fact exceptional for its size and weight but understandably different from the real deal. After a brief acclimation I'm finding it quite expressive, pianistic and fun to play. The dynamic range (as well as the tonal variety of the samples) is very impressive and realistic. The 1st keyboard touch setting is quite heavy, the heaviest I've ever experienced on a digital. Since they offer 3 settings I'm sure most everyone will find something to suit their technique. More memory please!! I love the detail and character of the fully-mapped grands but at around 200MB per piano that bank fills up quickly.

More impressions to follow after additional playing and gigging. :)

FedEx says mine's still in GRETNA, NE. I'm worried the truck was attacked by pygmies. Is this irrational?

Where do you live? From whom did you purchase? What's in Gretna? So many questions and so little time...

Gretna appears to be Omaha, more or less. Maybe it's on a train. It's on the way to Santa Fe, NM. I ordered it from Sweetwater. I'm mostly just being silly.

Sweetwater's in Ft Wayne, Indiana. Omaha isn't exactly on the way to Santa Fe...weird...sometimes in life it is necessary and even desirable to be silly...
