Re: So what's the consensus on the legs/stand ?
That looks more like what I've been sent. I remember it being a one pager with all the drawings/instructions on it...

Hi Hanon, does this mean that a bit of pressure was needed to put on the back legs to line them up with the cross braces? Because mine seemed a tight fit, like I was almost having to force the back legs out a bit to line up with the braces to fit them in, and I just about did it without seemingly bending any metal or destroying the piano...I wondered whether the braces just weren't quite the right angles at either end, but now I'm thinking that maybe it needed to be almost 'forced' into place to cause this 'tension'. I couldn't see any mention of that on the instruction manual I received for the legs. That said, I may have completely ignored the words staring me in the face if they were there...

Hello MrMark1977,
This information doesn't appear in the instructions, but came directly via correspondence from Clavia.
It's more the matter of the legs being put on first, then the rear legs having outward force being applied to them to get the crossbraces attached.
The Rhodes and Polymoog stand legs require similar efforts.
Cheers, Hanon

Re: So what's the consensus on the legs/stand ?
Hi Hanon,
Thanks very much for that, I think that explains it for me then - because I felt I did have to push those back legs a bit to fit those crossbars in. I was slightly paranoid, thinking the crossbars had just the wrong angles at the ends or something, but figured (or hoped rather) that if I was bending anything out of place, (by having 'faulty' crossbars in place), then it would be the stand legs or crossbars suffering, and hopefully not the Nord itself.
But it does make sense that it's meant to be like that, I mean, if the crossbars are vital to the piano's stability, then they would need to be a tight fit, rather than just loosely being there, I just wish the manual had confirmed that pressure will need to be applied back against the legs, instead of me just doing that and wondering whether I was doing the right thing!

Hi,
I've just got here! Sorry to dig out this old thread but can anyone confirm if applying pressure on the rear legs to get the crossbars in is the right thing to do. I'm paranoid too...

Re: So what's the consensus on the legs/stand ?
Hi Tammai,
It certainly seems to be based on posts here. I can also say, from personal experience, that the legs are more stable with the crossbars than without. I've had them for just under a year now, under tention for most of that time, and nothing's broke yet...
Another question though, while I'm here - two of my legs have some sort of metal washer thing in between the leg and the foot, to raise the height of the leg on an unstable floor I presume. Am I right to have these two at the front?
Thanks,
Matthew

Thanks, mhorspool.
I forced the crossbars in but it doesn't look right... The end of the crossbar that is held by the star knob are not 'flat' to the bottom surface on the instrument (see attached image for what I'm referencing to). Does it look better or look the same on yours?

No, my crossbars aren't flat to the surface of the board either. I'm not sure whether they're any better or worse than yours as I'm blind, so can't see your image! :)
