Played the MP11 today

Postby dynanord » 03 Sep 2014, 18:42

Hey.
After practicing a few hours on my NP2 today, I went to the local musicstore and played the Kawai MP11 for around 20 minutes.
The keybed and action is superb, fully wooden keys with ivory feel - a dream ! I will save up money now...
Unfortunately I heard its sound just through some studioheadphones, so I am not able to judge it truely.
At home I run my sound through a pair of KRKs with sub, which I know very well now.
But I think I might like the sound. Not too boomy in the lowend and with a nicely audible attack in the highend.
Can someone offer his/her opinion or experiences about the MP11?
Kind regards.

This piano is totally unsuitable for me. It's way too heavy, costs too much, I don't have the room for it, or the talent to do it justice.

But (along with a vintage B3) it's the only keyboard I lust after.

That´s exactly what I wanted to hear :)
I think it´s a little lighter and smaller than a real grand piano which is next on my secret wishlist. And who has got talent? Me? (coughing slightly)

Give yourselves a break guys! Me, I can't drive for toffee, but I wouldn't let that stop me buying a Ferrari if i could afford one. Life's too short, make the most of it. :)

If I didn't have space for a Kawai grand piano, I'd buy the MP11 as a stay at home keyboard.

Sure, the NP2 is better for a gigs but the Kawai is top notch. The only problem is the weight!
