Piano Marvel Midi over USB

Postby ageofpoo » 09 Dec 2014, 16:48

I am having trouble setting up Midi via usb on a Windows 7 PC.
I am trying to start using PianoMarvel.com to help with my practicing.

PianoMarvel acknowledges the Nord Piano device is present but I do not get any feedback. I also selected USB 1 under the midi settings on the nord piano interface but it had no effect.
The Midi light under the volume control also never comes on.
Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Maybe I need to buy a midi cable.

According to the manual, USB midi channel 1 is the default for the keyboard. You should verify that, then be sure the software is set to that channel as well.

Cheers....

Hej AgeOfPoo!

MIDI cable? One with a 5-pin DIN for the Nord and still USB for the computer? :?

I do not use Windows myself, but isn't there some kind of driver to install in your Windows box?
Like the Clavia USB driver?

I have contacted Aaron at PianoMarvel's support line and he assures me that it is fully USB-compatible, as is your Nord. It is not necessary to use a separate midi interface. He did note, however, that their current web-based product will not run on WinXP. Perhaps that's what you have on your computer? Apparently, there is an older version app available from them which will run on XP. but it seems likely that their newer app will have other features which are also improved. If this is the case, you may wish to consider moving to a newer Windows platform.

Bless,

Pablo

Thanks for the replies! I'm running Windows 7.
Pablo I think it is USB compatible with a USB-midi cable; not a usb A - usb B cable.
Nord piano set to USB 1 tried with both local on/off had no effect.

Piano marvel software acknowledges the nord piano is present as 'midi 0'
