Pablo is The Man. Just sayin'

Part of the reason I stay red if at all possible. And, lord knows, they've gotten a lot of business from me over the last few years.

Sort of like buying Porsches. You buy into the design philosophy, even though it costs more up front.

Update: My Piano 3 is back in my possession after getting a new keybed. The action is perfect and very quiet. Because I bought it used, I had to pay for the keybed, but it wasn't too bad. Big thanks again to Pablo for his help!

Ok, does it mean that the keybad issue I've been readong all about on this forum is now fixed? By returning it to the dealer etc, like usual?

Quai34, I can tell you that my issues where mainly because someone(previous owner) had tampered with the springs in the keybed. With that said, when my service center ordered my new keybed it was from a brand new shipment that just arrived in the US a few weeks ago. If this new shipment of keybeds is an improved version, I don't know the answer. But, this keybed feels great and is very quiet.

Hi-
My name is Eric Franzen I live near you in Charlottesville. First time posting. I've had the Nord Piano 3 for about a year. Loved it until I too experienced the knocking noise. I went through the same process, contacted Pablo, then brought it into Roger and they replaced some padded strip that was extremely insufficient from the factory. Problem solved. I was given great service all around but still left wondering why this Cadillac of a keyboard didn't make it a year before it needed repair.
Then just last week, in the middle of a gig, two of the keys stayed stuck about halfway down, out of commission. So I went through the process again and Roger literally fixed it in 5 seconds by pulling up on the front edge of the key and holding the other end firm, snapping it back in to place. Fixed... but what the heck... I've never had that happen on a keyboard before.
Anyway problem solved, I bring it home and was testing it out again. Turns out if I give too hard of a strike on the edge of the key, almost everyone will just pop out. I understand playing doesn't generally happen like that, but in my mind I shouldn't be able to pop the key out with a fortissimo strike by one finger.
Some may say I play to hard at times but I disagree. If they keyboard can't handle the box should read 'does not support Jerry Lee Lewis or Rachmaninoff'.

I don't know, I'm bummed. I've had roland's for decades and never had an issue. I thought it was time to upgrade to the 'best' and now I'm doubting this 3,000.00 investment. Guess I'll stick to cheesy background music gigs....

Sorry to hear your board is not holding up.

Just wanted to chime in and say all my Roland and Yamaha boards have had problems with the keyboards; I had to replace half the keys on my Yamaha board and had the entire keybed replaced by Roland on one of my Roland boards and just live with the other Roland making noises. So far, my Nords have caused less problems and show less wear.

YMMV -- hope you get yours fixed one way or the other.

Thanks that's good to hear. It is getting fixed and Nord has been very good about that. Maybe I got lucky with the Rolands, but man I feel like I really have put those through the ringer. We'll see how it goes after the repair on the Nord.

Just as an update...my Piano 3 has been great since the keybed replacement last year. A lot of use and no noisy or stuck keys!
