Re: NP3 vs Yamaha CP4 action
The NP3 is more organic,
This does not mean that cp4 is bad, it's just a way to express the difference between those 2 good keyboards.
Cheers

Re: NP3 vs Yamaha CP4 action
Choosing a keybed is quite a personal preference. Last week I had my first chance to try out a Nord Piano 3 HP and I loved that keybed and preferred it over the NS2 HA. My point is that what may be just right for me, might be too heavy /light for you.
If it is possible, I would really recommend you try them out side by side.

Re: NP3 vs Yamaha CP4 action
After 3 months with the NP3, i'm satisfied with it.
i'd like to speak about the pianissimo, i noticed that when i play pianissimo, the response could be different, cause you either have no sound, or a sound which is not really pianissimo but a piano. I was rather surprised to notice that actually.
This is somehow a compliment for this new keybed. Why, because i feel that i work with it, i become more subtle, i play with more nuances, and more needs of precision. There isn't pianissimo, really. Try it...

...I noticed also, that when i play really fast, rolling boogie for example, if i release too fast a key, there is a noise under it. At least 15 keys, those in the middle. It never occurs when i play normally, never. But if i want to have that noise, i know to do each time.
Try it ...

Re: NP3 vs Yamaha CP4 action
Hi
In what position (curve 1 2 or 3) do you play?
The 1 is clearly the one for having pianos sound like a piano.
I use 2 or 3 with the EP's sometimes to make them bark a lot...
Cheers

Re: NP3 vs Yamaha CP4 action
It is not a question of 1,2 or 3 curve position.
If you hear me, now the relation between the keybed and velocity is bad for pianissimo. In other words, the new keybed is good, and the curves has to be adapted to this new keybed, in pianissimo most of all. Cause i don't have pianissimo in my np3 for now.
I think nord produces this instrument with love and passion, an future update with better curves could be a good thing.
