Hi,
Just getting to grips with my new NP88 and looking at swapping some of the sounds over. I've downloaded the bright and imperial pianos and see that the XL file sizes are very large and obviously will dramatically reduce the number of sounds you can put on the piano at any one time. On the website it says that the difference between XL and Large is that the XL is fully mapped across the keyboard. What exactly does this mean, and are the XL files significantly better to warrant having these on rather than the large?
Cheers

Re: Nord Sounds Query
I think 'fully mapped' might refer to each of the keys being assigned individual samples, compared to one sample for multiple keys on the Large versions.
I'm not 100% sure on this though...

You are correct.
@ snerkler,
The type of music that you play determines the size need for samples.
Most often when playing "live" as part of a band, if the piano is not frequently the dominant instrument, you can use the Medium samples. If you take solos that have the other players stop playing completely, use the Large.
When doing studio work and recording, use the XL.
Cheers, Hanon

Re: Nord Sounds Query
Thanks for the replies guys. I'm assuming then that if the keys are assigned individual samples then it will sound more authentic and more dynamic?
