@Dave: That's exactly how I use those two. NP on piano gigs and NS2 on more pop/rock or in places with very small space for keyboard. And while being critical on Clavia's recent products, I am very happy with those two. Of course like other piano players here, I'd rather have seen new NP2 with those improved piano features and without this too-simple-sample player.
NP with External MIDI panel (with few knobs) would be much more useful than recent one with sample player. Many of us have Macbooks for example. With 100-500 euros, you can buy products like Alchemy, Omnisphere or any of those synths you prefer. And those are completely different level for pads for example. Or with 300-1000euros you can have synths modules like Waldorf Blofeld or Access Virus TI2 Snow. And same thing: they can give you much more than this sample player.

Dave, you just described my exact set-up, and I am indeed very happy with it

Re: Nord Piano 2 rant...
Just had a pop gig with N276. It still makes me amazed, how flexible it is for doing many things. 6-part multitimbrality with splitting, layering and midi-controlling features makes it just a wonderful tool. Of course it takes time to make your multi-presets. But once you have done it, you can really sound BIG. Basically you have two NPs, two Organs and two flexible synths inside NS2 to mix them anyway you like. Take any second keyboard over it to play some part(s) of it. I use Roland A500-pro or Akai Miniak. Remember also, that NS2 has those piano features like String Resonance, Piano release and 500MB for just pianos.
I know I've been quite critical with new Electro and new Nord Piano. It's simple because I am so used to NS2. Of course there's difference with price, but if you must pay 2190euros for E3HP and 3270e for NS276 (at Thomann, Germany) IMO there's no question which models gives you more value for its price. Still NS276 weights only 16,5kg and is very portable. Old NP and C2-organ are different. I totally accept their simple philosophy and those two a great things too: NP(1) is for pianist and C2 for organist. IMO Clavia should follow this line of development instead of mixing those identities: NP = best piano on the market, Cx = best organ, NSx = best all-in-one keyboard.

Re: Nord Piano 2 rant...
Dave, I agree with everything you say. For me, even the NE3HP is OK as a portable instrument (and it's nice to have the organ on board).
And yes, the real thing is something else still. (In fact, comparison with real pianos makes me prefer the Yamaha action, but the Clavia sounds. Oh well... )
