Hi!
I just bought my Nord Piano 2 HP, and it was working perfectly. I connected it with my laptop to use is with some Logic samples on my Mac. Afterwards, when I try to play the piano by itself, it doesn't play any sounds anymore! When I connect it with the Logic it does play the Logic Samples, but it doesn't seem to play by itself anymore!
Does anyone knows what might be happening?
Thanks!

Re: My Nord Piano is not playing sounds anymore!
Did you switch the Local OFF? That would disconnect the keyboard from the sound engine and would make it respond to MIDI only.

Thank you so much for your reply!
I'm not used to keyboards (I play an acoustic piano usually), so I might have pushed the wrong button without realising. I just remember connecting the cable to my computer and everything was working, but it sounds like you are right and that is the case.
Where is the "local control" located and how do I turn it on again?

In the MIDI menu.
Something useful is to download the PDF of the manual and do a string search for "local"
It is in page 19:

Hey! I found the button, thanks! It was actually ON, and still no sound. I tried restoring the keyboard too, but it didn't change anything. I don't know what to do, it's very frustrating! I'm reading the whole manual too see if there is something I missed, but if you have any other suggestions, I would really appreciate it! Thank you for your time!

Sorry to ask the obvious:
Are you sure you have the audio cable connected to the right outputs (not the first one, which is headphones), to the ones that say Left or Right out
Is the piano level set to max? Master Level?
Do you have a volume pedal connected?
Does it sound through the headphones?
Can you send MIDI from the computer and hear the piano sound?

Re: My Nord Piano is not playing sounds anymore!
[img][img][/img][/img]Guys, everything is "on":
I removed the pedals, my headphone is tested and working on any other devices. If I connect to the laptop on Logic, it recognizes the keys I play. I can make it sound the samples of my computer, but when I try to use it with it's own sounds it is silent (although it recognizes the keys and velocities I'm playing and can record them).
the master volume is all the way up. the headphone is connected to the "headphones" plug. I tried restoring the piano to the original library. The "Piano" panel is "ON". Local is "ON".
I have no idea why this is happening!
Any more obvious things I could check? Any more complex issues somebody might know of?
I sent a message to Nord support. I still think it could be something simple but I have no idea what it could be.
Please help, this is so frustrating! Thanks so much!

Re: My Nord Piano is not playing sounds anymore!
Wow.
Two things you might check. First, there is a menu setting for LOCAL control of the sounds (vs. only producing MIDI). The manual says it defaults to LOCAL on every power cycle, but it's probably worth checking. Second, you say you've restored the instruments and samples, but have you reloaded the operating system?
Other than that, I'd be stumped: no pedals, no cables attached of any sort, only known-good headphones, etc. It should be making sounds.
