Does anyone know if the Imperial grand patch is taken from the PMI (now Sapmletekk) library "The Emperor." If so would it basically sound the same, given that the library is much smaller...
any help appreciated

Re: Imperial Grand
This is total shot in the dark, but I imagine Clavia called the Imperial Grand that because of its grandious sound. That's what I can muster from their description of the patch.
Now I would be totally disappointed with them if they're using other companies samples in the library .

Hello Mal,
Welcome to the forums!
The Grand Imperial Bösendorfer samples provided by Clavia DMI AB (Nord) are uniquely theirs.
As long as the sampling techniques are similar, it is reasonable to expect that two different sampling sessions of the same piano model would sound similar. "Imperial" is the Bösendorfer model series name.

Re: Imperial Grand
Thanks for the replies. I have checked with Sampletekk and confirmed that as you said, they are not the same samples./
The reason I asked is because PMI's "The Emperor" is my favorite sampled piano (and I have most of them), and the demos of the Imperial Grand sound remarkably similar.
I am considering purchasing the Nord piano so I can have access to the wonderful Bosendorfer Imperial when I gig..
