This apparently marks the 2nd time a comment from me has caused someone to terminate their forum membership. The last time around I quickly felt that I was out of line, edited my post and apologized, even before generating that person's reaction. Happily, in that instance I was able to convey my apology to the aggrieved party shortly thereafter by tracking that person down on another forum and he quickly rejoined.
Perhaps I'm getting burned out at this, but when someone states that 1) she/he is an electrical engineer, 2) she/he is keen to learn new things, and then asks me to share insider info in this manner, it seems to me that this person is asking for source code or something similarly WAY out of line. And my response was extremely tame, to say the least (and Hal's book really is the original bible for this stuff!).
No apologies forthcoming on this one, but going forward I'll try to limit myself to tech stuff and stay away from personal opinion (to the extent possible).
