This is to encourage all to make their own music rack for the Nord Piano(Stage & electro). I couldn't justify spending good money on the Nord music stand for the NP . It didn't meet my asthetic requirements - my Nord Piano is in my living room.
Please see photos. I found some oak trim and hardwood dowels at my local lumber supply, and bought 6mm stainless steel rod (McMaster-Carr online), and created this simple music stand. It's minimalist, much cheaper, and holds two sheets of music. I hope you'll agree that this is more pleasing to the eye.
Details: I got a friend to weld the 6mm rod to 1.5 in wide flat bar stock (two pieces, 3-inch long each), at a 10 degre angle(two of these , left and right). The oak trim I cut to 18 in width (3 pieces) and drilled holes for the five dowels. I drilled holes in the oak base to match the holes drilled in the flat bar stock, and used small screws with T-nuts to join. My cost, about $25, welding extra. About 1-2 hour time to make and assemble. So far, I haven't glued the dowels, or applied a finish to the wood. Too busy playing!
Good luck with your rack!

I don't know if you have the Wife-Acceptance-Factor to consider, but I would think (given the whole setup) that your music stand would be the least of your worries

to mjbrands - yes, it looks that way doesn't it - although the rooom is 18ft x 30ft (9.5 ft ceilings) - very spacious. The self-built tower speakers are only for CD listening - don't want uncompressed transients blowing the tweeters. And of course, you can't see the modest rack to the right, that holds the stereo plus a few rack synths, and the other keboard (Proteus MPS) leaning against the wall. All in all, my gal is pretty tolerant.
to Petrounic - Thanks for your response. The condensed Hannon I found on the web many years ago - prob laid out with Finale. If I find the PDF, i'll post it. It's quite handy, cuz sometimes I need a reminder. Practice, practice,....
