Hi,
I've bought a 4r and am loving it, I can get around most of the synth after a few hours, although I'm having trouble with slots sounding all at once even in program mode. Why would they all be sounding at once and how can I switch them off to only hear one slot in program mode? I've read the manual and it doesn't go into the detail I think I need.

Re: Trouble using slots
Hi Umbriel congrats on the 4r!
Just hold down a slot button (slot B for example). While still holding B press and hold the remaining slots simultaneously to deactivate them (A,C,D). You can also double-click a slot to solo it but as soon as you change programs/performances it deactivates solo and the remaining slots can be heard.
Cheers

Re: Trouble using slots
Ah thankyou! I'll try this out tonight. These finer points of managing slots aren't covered in the manual - or not I can find anyway. Cheers.

Re: Trouble using slots
Thanks, I've just downloaded the manual and it's got the information I need. The printed one I got with the synth must have been old or something as it's missing stuff and has inconsistencies whereas the online one reflects my synth.

This is good advice for the NL4, but not for the rack version, which works differently. Rack slots will ALWAYS respond to midi data received on that respective slot's midi channel. Assign all four slots to four different channels...

Re: Trouble using slots
Thanks Pablo, my mistake. I confused solo mode on my keyed A1 with the NL4r
I mostly use the global midi channel when sending MIDI to the NL4r (with slots A-D all assigned to different midi channels) and then decide which slots I want to layer/deactivate/focus etc.
Cheers & congrats to your Cubbies!

Could I ask you how you assign the various midi channels for each of the 4 slots. I have an A1 and just can't seem to work this out. There is nothing in the manual that shows you how to assign a midi channel for any of the 4 slots? In other words what button/s need I press and what should I see? Should I be in Performance mode? I would appreciate your help.
thanks in advance
